Feeling the need for fresh air and a change of scenery, Juniper suggested they move to the library’s extended terrace. As they stepped outside, the cool night air invigorated their senses, providing a welcome respite from the enclosed space of the library.

The terrace offered a breathtaking panorama of the city. The lensed glass barriers, a technological marvel, enhanced and magnified the city’s nightscape, turning it into a spectacular display. The skyline sparkled like a sea of stars, each light a beacon of life and energy. The crescent of the 541, now a ribbon of shimmering gold, cut through the darkness, with the energy of a whip about to crack.

Juniper leaned against the railing, her eyes tracking the movement of a distant bullet. “I suppose you’re right,” she sighed. “It’s just… Daniel seems to be carrying his own burdens. Today, when we talked about taking risks, I saw a vulnerability in him I hadn’t noticed before.”

She stifled a yawn, blinking hard against the heaviness in her eyelids.
