As they stepped onto the balcony, the cool evening air embraced them. The heated floors warmed their feet despite the chill. Juniper marveled at the view… the residential side of the city stretched out before them, a tapestry of lights and life she rarely saw from her side of the building.

Alisha leaned against the railing. “Juni, I heard from Keller that Martinez & Kenery had an opposition with the state that involved Roma.”

Juniper sighed, her shoulders tensing. “Sadly, Alisha, that’s not actually all of it.”

“Tell me, girl,” Alisha urged, her tone gentle yet insistent. “OK… or I’m going to tell you something you ight not want to hear…”
