“Above all,” Donahue concluded, his gaze once again sweeping the room, “your verdict must be based solely on the evidence and testimony presented in this courtroom, viewed through the lens of the law as I have explained it to you. You must put aside any personal biases or preconceived notions and focus only on the facts.”

With that, he settled back in his chair, his robes arranging themselves around him like the mantle of justice itself. “With the closing arguments concluded and the instructions given, it is now time for you to begin your deliberations. I remind you that your verdict must be unanimous. Take all the time you need to carefully consider the evidence and the law.”

As the jury filed out of the courtroom to begin their solemn duty, an air of anticipation settled over the gallery. The future of countless lives now rested in the hands of those twelve men and women, their judgment poised to shape the course of history.
