Juniper’s heart raced as she watched the reactions of the jury, the spectators, and even the defense table. She could feel the tide turning, the evidence speaking louder than any words could. But just as she began to feel a flicker of hope, Roma’s hiss cut through… his objection landed like a slap.

“Objection, Your Honor,” he declared, rising from his seat with a flourish. “These photographs are irrelevant to federal hiring practices.”

Juniper’s fists clenched at her sides. She took a deep breath… “Your Honor, these images directly challenge the government’s assertions regarding applicant qualifications,” she argued, her voice unwavering. “They demonstrate that the affected individuals are not only capable but thriving in roles similar to those they were denied.”

The room went rigid. In the back row, a heavy-set juror nearly tipped out of his seat, blinking like a man woken from a verdict he hadn’t meant to settle into.

As Judge Donahue considered the arguments, his brow furrowed in concentration. The silence stretched on… Finally, he spoke… and the room remembered to breathe.

“Objection overruled,” he declared, his gaze fixed on Roma. “The evidence will be admitted.”
