Chapter 4

The Meeting

...Credentials displayed. Signatures logged. Steps measured. Ready? Actually ready.

Locked...

Juniper and Sophia stepped into the sleek lobby of Martinez & Kenery LLP, their heels clicking softly against the polished teak flooring that shimmered under the morning sunlight streaming through the towering windows. The elegant cornice adorned with subtle hints of copper and silver wove intricate patterns overhead, masking the powerful solar array connectors descending from the rooftop. She adjusted the strap of her bag, feeling the familiar weight of legal briefs and notes nestled inside. Today was important.

Good Morning ,” Juniper and Sophia replied in unison, offering a smile to the receptionist.

“Ready for the big meeting?”

“Absolutely,” Juniper said, pressing the elevator button.

Juniper nodded, her mind already racing through the points she wanted to address. This is our chance to make a real impact. Stay focused.

As they ascended to the fifteenth floor, Sophia glanced over. “You seem a bit tense.”

Juniper took a deep breath. “Just the usual pre-meeting jitters. I want to ensure we cover all bases against this motion.”

“You’ve got this,” Sophia reassured her. “Your work on the class certification is rock solid.”

The elevator doors opened, revealing a corridor lined with legal tomes bound in rich burgundy and midnight blue, their spines creating a mosaic of deep colors that exuded gravitas. Sunlight streamed through expansive windows, casting warm light across the polished surfaces.
